April 6, 2021 Hypertufa Planters

Presented by Tagawa Gardens, Hypertufa is used to make stone-like rustic planters. Once you get past their odd name, the faux-stone planters known as hypertufa containers have a place in any garden and make a perfect spring project. About as easy to make as pastry, if a lot messier, they are planted with diminutive plants and have a capacity to bring a focal point to the patio, balcony or wherever they are placed. They can be outside for years, looking even better as they weather. Small perennial plants can stay in them year around.

May 4, 2021 Making a Trellis

Presented by Andy Gaudielle, Lowe’s. Trellises are a nice way of filling an empty space in a garden or back yard. They’re easy to build and they also offer other advantages: they can help train and support plants, create privacy walls and “living fences,” or simply add style and flair to your space! Trellises are also great space-savers, and enable gardeners to “get vertical” – which can be especially useful when growing space is limited.

This is the perfect opportunity to thin the plants in your gardens and bring them to sell at the DCGC Annual Plant Sale! Proceeds go to the DCGC to help procure speakers for the following year and is one of the major fundraisers for the club.
